Description
AI is one of the hottest topics of the New Era and I would like to share with you a development that I found intriguing for us/lawyers and compliance professionals. In the context of irregularities/misunderstandings that may arise between the outputs formed by machine learning abilities of AI and legal requirements to be complied pursuant to data protection regulations, the use of ML systems amounts to debates which have not been clarified yet among lawyers and compliance professionals mostly in view of ML systems’ methodologies exploited in data’s interpretation, accuracy of the outcome reached by those systems and if the opinions extracted by those systems guarantees our decisions to be impartial. In order to address and calibrate those irregularities/misunderstandings about ML systems, Spain’s data regulator (“AEPD”) and the European Data Protection Supervisor (“EDPS”) have jointly published a report.
