CASE OF UNAUTHORIZED COPYING OF ARTIST LUNA AURA’S MUSIC NFT

A recent American Luna Aura v. 3LAU Entertainment case with respect to a complaint filed by artist, Luna Aura for breach of contract and unjust enrichment in relation to music NFT being reproduced and communicated to the public without Luna Aura’s permission. The case is of significance in view of music NFTs which are being reproduced by the producers generating millions of revenues in violation of license agreements. Hence the said case is also a strong reminder for those who license their pecuniary rights over their works to re-evaluate their contracts in terms of their rights and obligations with respect to royalties that could stem from NFTs of their works.
